Can I bring a friend on the day of surgery?Yes. We encourage support from friends and family. You will need to have someone with you during the first 24 hrs so you can rest and begin healing. It is best if someone drives you and takes you home and it is necessary if you are being sedated or put to sleep.How long will recovery take?It will depend on the length of the surgery and anesthesia. Generally 2-4 hours.How much pain will I experience?Dr. Buinewicz will discuss your particular case and prescribe any medications necessary for your comfort. We offer the ONQ pain pump which is available for certain procedures to help significantly decrease your postoperative discomfort.Will people be able to see scars after I recover?Most incisions are hidden by clothing, hair or the natural lines and contours of the body. When healing is complete, most people will not suspect you have improved your appearance surgically.What are the limits and expectations of cosmetic surgery?It depends on your specific case and body. Dr. Buinewicz will estimate potential results upon examination and in certain cases be able to use our imaging computer tool to show you your potential results.How long will I be away from my job?During your initial exam Dr. Buinewicz will outline your plan from preoperative visit through your recovery. In some cases people return to work the day following surgery without anyone knowing surgery was done.Will I be put to sleep during surgery?Most likely yes. Dr. Buinewicz will recommend the type of anesthetic and discuss options you may want to consider.What about risks?There are risks in any procedures. A conservative approach to cosmetic surgery has resulted in Dr. Buinewicz’s fine reputation and high patient satisfaction.Is it really safe not to be in a hospital setting for surgery?Dr. Buinewicz created his center through the belief that a well practiced team produces the finest results. The MedSpa is specifically equipped for cosmetic procedures. Some procedures do require either hospitalization or a surgical center.Will assistants do any of my actual surgery?Absolutely not! Only Dr. Buinewicz performs the actual surgery with his surgical team assisting.I want to improve my appearance, but I am afraid. What should I do?Make an appointment to privately discuss your dreams. A consultation with our Patient Coordinator is free of charge. Your one on one consult with Dr. Buinewicz is $125.00, which is deducted from any procedure you decide to have. Dr. Buinewicz listens with genuine interest and will answer all your questions and concerns.Who is a candidate for Plastic Surgery?The best plastic surgery candidate is one with realistic expectations and an understanding of the limitations of medicine, technology and each patient’s own body. Is there a right age for Plastic Surgery?Age is not a factor. The appropriateness of a certain procedure is determined on a case by case basis and health history. Is Plastic Surgery covered by insurance?When plastic surgery is being done for cosmetic reasons, insurance will not be involved. When the surgery is done for reconstruction, insurance may pay a portion of the procedure. Can I finance my Plastic Surgery?Yes, you may. Plastic surgery financing is now available in our office.
